An online course entitled Reducing Disaster Risks through Land Use Planning is set to start on March 23, 2009, as part of the Natural Disaster Risk Management Program.
This specialization course presents a general background on trends and experiences in mainstreaming disaster risk reduction objectives in land use and urban planning. It is ideal for professionals and practitioners involved in public infrastructures, critical facilities, housing and real estate, and lifelines such as land use planners, urban planner, environmental planners, settlement planners, zoning officers, and building and housing officials and housing officers employed in national and local government institutions.
